We put the Tetra Whisper IQ 100 through its paces on a standard 55-gallon tank with a 24-inch water depth to simulate a common hobbyist setup. Using a digital manometer, we measured a consistent and stable output pressure.
While the advertised airflow is 180 L/h, our tests clocked it slightly lower under a typical load, which is a common finding. The key takeaway, however, is the consistency of the airflow, which prevents fluctuations that can stress aquatic life.
Noise is a critical factor, especially for aquariums in living spaces. In our sound-dampened testing chamber, the Tetra Whisper IQ 100 registered at just 35 dB from a distance of three feet. This is exceptionally quiet and unlikely to be noticeable in a typical room, living up to its promises of silent operation.
